The man charged with robbing the InFirst Bank in Plumville in October of 2021 was sentenced earlier today in Indiana County Court.
33-year-old Brian Potts of Marion Center was ordered to serve 11 and a half months to a day less than two years in Indiana County Jail and three years of probation for his guilty pleas to robbery and possession of a controlled substance connected with the robbery on October 19th. Police said that Potts went into the bank and passed a threatening note to the bank employee. He made off with $3,190 in cash. Police caught him at the Dollar General Store on Tanoma Road in Rayne Township, with police finding the clothes he wore during the robbery in the car. He was found inside the women’s restroom and was arrested without further incident. He had $800 in cash and three bundles of heroin on his person.
He was also sentenced to 11 and a half months to a day less than two years for a separate case of burglary from February 3rd of 2020. President Judge Thomas Bianco ordered the jail sentences to run concurrently.
