Earlier today, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced postseason awards for its women’s lacrosse teams, and IUP came away with multiple honors.
Head coach Brenna Gallagher Roan was named PSAC West Coach of the Year after leading the Crimson Hawks to a 9-3 record, a PSAC playoff appearance and two shutout wins. Additionally, IUP finished sixth in two categories under Roan’s direction. The first was in goals (223) and the second was in goals against (10.36).
IUP also placed a league-high seven women’s lacrosse players on All-PSAC teams. Midfielder Sarah Reustle and defenders Hannah Sharkey and Maggie Marstellar earned first team selections, while attackers Chloe Borland and Jordan Kulp, midfielder Emme Mass and defender Sami Shutt earned second team honors.
The first team selections are the most for IUP since 2015 and the second team selections topped all PSAC nominees.
