At their meeting on Wednesday, the Indiana County Commissioners entered into an agreement with the Indiana County Community Action Program, also known as ICCAP, to apply for Emergency Solutions Grant funds.
The agreement will make ICCAP the County’s service provider for the ESG program and it would provide rapid re-housing services to assist the homeless or near homeless residents of Indiana County.
Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said entering into this agreement is a great move for the County.
The contract is worth $105,618 and runs until April 6, 2023.
In other business, Commissioners got an update regarding COVID-19 numbers in Indiana County. Director of Emergency Management Tom Stutzman said the county has seen a 10.5 percent decrease in COVID-19 cases in Indiana County as of June 5, and a 7.1 percent increase in COVID-19 testing.
He did add that the county vaccination status is under 0.1 percent and he also reported two additional COVID-related deaths, bringing the county total to 360.
Commissioners also signed a proclamation marking the observance of Juneteenth 2022 in Indiana County. A photo between the commissioners and members of the Indiana County NAACP following the signing of the proclamation can be found below, and they reminded residents that the courthouse will be closed on June 14, due to the Flag Day Holiday.
