Today is the first day of line painting along Oakland Avenue in the Route 286/422 expansion project area.
Over the next two days, crews will be painting lines in areas of Oakland Avenue that have been closed off for construction. This is being done ahead of a lane switch that will take place on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Those lane switches will take place between 7 PM and 7 AM on both nights. During that time, there will be some additional line painting and traffic signal installation going on.
PennDOT also announced that as part of the project, PennDOT will close the Oakland Avenue entrance to Indiana Mall on June 21st. This is a one-day closure to facilitate the movement of traffic signals and traffic lanes.
The project costs $19.83 million and the overall project will wrap up in December of 2023.
