The Penns Manor School Board held a special meeting Wednesday night and approved the 2022-23 budget.
The budget comes to $18,811,127 in revenues and $19,147,942 in expenses, leaving a budget gap of $336,815. The board kept property taxes the same as last year at 15.3768 mils. The budget will utilize some of the fund balance to fill the budget gap.
Superintendent Daren Johnston said that it was difficult to put together, especially with the current economic challenges.
In other business, the board also approved the district’s comprehensive plan for 2022-2025. The plan is now headed to the state Department of Education.
