Armagh fire crews were called out early this morning for a vehicle crash on Route 711.
Indiana County 911 reported that the fire department was dispatched at 4:48 this morning along with Citizens Ambulance, West End Ambulance and State Police from the Indiana Barracks to a portion of 711 between Cramer and Charles in East Wheatfield Township. Initial scanner reports say that the vehicle ran into a tree that fell across the roadway. No word yet on the condition of the driver or any of the passengers.
This was one of several calls that Indiana County first responders had to deal with over the last 24 hours. Clyde Volunteer Fire Department was called into Westmoreland County on two occasions. Both were connected with a fire in Westmoreland County. The first incident was the main fire at 5:37 PM, while the second call was at 9:21 PM as the fire rekindled.
There were also reports of utility lines down on Walker Drive in Center Township at 7:15 PM. Homer City Volunteer Fire Department was called out at the time. And an automatic fire alarm was activated at a property on North Liberty Street in Blairsville Borough. Blairsville fire and police departments along with Black Lick firefighters were dispatched at 10:47 PM. Blairsville Volunteer Fire Department representative Ab Dettorre said that it was a false alarm with some dust triggering the system.
