On Monday night, the Homer-Center School Board voted to hire a new superintendent.

The board hired Ralph J. Cecere, Jr. to be the new Superintendent. Cecere said that he wants to continue to live up to the positive reputation that Homer Center has.
Cecere has been at Portage School District as the principal of the Junior/Senior High School for the last 17 years as part of 30 years in the public education field.
Board president Michael Bertig talked about what impressed him and the other board members about Cecere.
Cecere will now submit his letter of resignation to the Portage School District. It’s not known at this time when Portage will release him from his contract, so the Homer-Center Board appointed business manager Gregg Kalemba as interim superintendent until Cecere is ready to take over.
