Officials with the River Valley School District made a big announcement this morning regarding the district’s new STEAM Academy.
Superintendent Philip Martell said in a tweet that the River Valley STEAM Academy has been approved as the first apprenticeship program in the U.S. through the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).
These apprenticeships will provide career development opportunities to River Valley students, while allowing them to build a foundation for high-demand career pathways, such as specialists in Tech Support, Cybersecurity Support, and Networking Support; as well as a Tech Project Coordinator; and Data Analyst.
CompTIA is a leading voice and advocate for the $5.2 trillion global information technology ecosystem, and the estimated 75 million tech professionals who design, implement, manage, and safeguard the technology that powers the world’s economy.
The apprenticeships will begin in the Fall of 2023.
