At Tuesday night’s meeting, Homer City Borough Council was presented with a preliminary budget for next year by borough manager Robert Nymick.
Nymick said that the budget for 2023 is in his words, “not in a favorable position” for several reasons.
Nymick said at this early phase of budget creation, the budget has a deficit of about $120,000, but the carryover numbers are not known. Nymick also is unsure if the borough would have to dip into its savings. The finance committee will work on the budget, which is due for final approval in December.
In other business, State Representative Jim Struzzi presented Borough Council with a proclamation congratulating the borough on it’s 150th anniversary.
