The Superintendent of the Purchase Line School District has announced his resignation.
In a letter sent to district employees on Thursday, Superintendent Shawn Ford announced that he would step down on February 15th of 2023 to become the assistant superintendent of the DuBois Area School District. Ford said that the decision to resign was based on personal life circumstances, self-reflection and input from his family and mentors. He added that he has had a great relationship with the school board and the Purchase Line community since he was hired by the district.
Ford first came to Purchase Line in August of 2018. A more extensive announcement is expected to come at a later date, but he did say that he would assist with the transition and will serve the district faithfully until his final day.
