Freshman Dior Johnson has returned to the Pitt basketball team after pleading guilty on December 9th to two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence for his assault on a woman on September 5th.
Johnson was sentenced to one year on probation. He had been prohibited from Pitt’s campus and from participating in basketball activities after his arrest but will now be able to practice with the team and return to classes. Coach Jeff Capel and his Pitt teammates had to assent to Johnson’s return, and the guard will be red-shirted this season.
Pitt returns to basketball action tomorrow afternoon against North Carolina.
