The IUP basketball teams tipped off the 2023 portion of their schedule the same way they ended 2022 – by winning. Jack Benedict has the recap.
Women’s coach Craig Carey says Alana Cardona is a good example of how he wants his team to play.
Men’s coach Joe Lombardi says IUP had to find ways to beat Seton Hill’s zone, which is a defense they rarely face.
For the IUP men, it was their 21st straight win at the KCAC. They are 45-1 there since the 2018-19 season.
Saturday’s doubleheader is also Indiana School District day, with complimentary general admission seats provided by an anonymous donor, using tickets distributed through IASD’s athletic department. The women’s game tips off at one o’clock.
