A popular arms store in Blairsville was razed in a fire late last night.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Blairsville, Black Lick, Coral-Graceton, Homer City and Armagh fire departments, along with the RIT team and Citizens’ Ambulance, to a commercial structure fire at Aim First Firearms around 10:14 p.m. Fire crews from Coal Run/McIntyre, Brush Valley and Cherryhill Township were called for standby detail a half hour later.
Initial scanner feeds report that ammunition inside the store was firing as the fire burned. Black Lick fire officials said in a Facebook post that crews prevented the fire from spreading after attacking it from the roof above the front door and performed extensive overhaul. State police fire marshals investigated and found the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature.
No injuries were reported but the store was deemed a complete loss.
