U.S. Senator John Fetterman continues to receive treatment for clinical depression at a medical center.
On Februrary 15th, Fetterman checked himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to start treatment for depression. Fetterman is still in the hospital, according to an update from his communications director Joe Calvello. He added that Fetterman is “doing well” and continues to improve and recover. Fetterman is also receiving visits every day with family and staffers who are keeping him updated on Senate business. Calvello said that this will be a weeks-long process for the Senator.
The current hospitalization comes after he suffered a stroke during last May’s primary election season. He underwent an operation to have a defibrillator and pacemaker put on his heart. After checking himself into the hospital in February, it was announced that the senator has dealt with clinical depression for most of his life, but it flared up in recent weeks.
