Today is the start of a two-day negotiation session between the State System of Higher Education and the Union that represents its teachers.
The last time that PASSHE and APSCUF met for a negotiation session was on March 31st according to a joint news release. Progress was reported in that session, as the teams discussed leave, office hours, mandatory training and athletic directors. An announcement is expected after the two day session ends on Friday. The teachers are currently working under a four-year contract that is set to expire on June 30th.
Negotiations also got underway last week between PASSHE and APSCUF concerning the state system coaches. Their contract is also set to expire on June 30th, and the last time both sides met was on March 29th. That marked the start of negotiations for the coaches’ contract, as the two sides discussed the evaluation process, funding professional-development activities for coaches and expanded tuition waivers. The next negotiation session is scheduled for May 2nd.
