State police have released more information about an incident where a truck tore down power lines along Route 286 in White Township yesterday.
A trooper was on routine patrol in the area of the Professional Center and Route 286 in White Township when he saw a utility pole and power lines about four feet off the road, and a Kenworth tractor-trailer truck. He spoke with the driver, who was not identified, and was told that he had pulled into the professional center to turn around and hit a low-lying utility line, causing the lines and a utility pole to be pulled over. Crews from Penelec, Verizon, People’s Natural Gas, PennDOT and Indiana Fire Association assisted on-scene.
Route 286 was closed for several hours as crews worked to repair the downed lines and utility poles.
