During a special meeting Monday night, the Purchase Line school board appointed Patricia Berezansky as the district’s new superintendent.
Berezansky takes over for interim superintendent David London, who succeeded Shawn Ford after he left the district in February to pursue a similar position with the Dubois Area School District. She spent nearly 20 years with the United School District and is currently the Director of Education.
In an official statement, board president Scott Gearhart said Berezansky was selected based on her “extensive educational leadership experience, knowledge of the region, and community mindedness,” and he adds that she will be “a great fit for Purchase Line.” He also thanked London and Ford for their contributions to the district.
Berezansky is expected to start with the district in June.
