Along with county offices, nominations for school boards and local government were on the ballots for the primary election.
In the race for Indiana School Board, each ballot was looking for the top five selections. The five nominees from the Republican ballot were Walter Schroth with 1,560 votes, followed by Chris Adams with 1,318, Sally McCombie with 1,158, Doug Steve with 1,103 and Patrick Schneider with 897 votes. The top five nominees on the Democratic ticket were Quintina Thomas with 901 votes, Judy Holiday with 867 votes, McCombie with 808 votes, Amanda Anderson at 794 and Schroth with 682 votes.
For River Valley School Board, the race was very close for Region 3’s Republican nomination. Beverly Carnese had 110 votes while challenger Tawnya Satler had 109 votes. For the Democratic nomination, Carnese had a 128-67 lead over Satler. For Region 1, Connie Constantino and Luke Faust won both party’s nominations, as did Tony Canzano and Mary Whitfield for Region 2.
For Penns Manor School District, Jill Eckenrode and Chad Kuzemchak will meet again in the general election as Eckenrode won the Democratic nomination for Region 3, 76-47, and Kuzemchak won the Republican nomination, 114-104. Deborah Tate and John Hardesty won both parties nominations for Region 1, as did Jody Rainey and Ron Larch for Region 2.
In the Center Township Supervisors Republican race, James Bence won the Republican nomination over Evan Bertig, 208-149.
All results are unofficial until the votes are certified by the county.
