Indiana County first responders have had a busy morning with two vehicle crashes.
The first was reported in Center Township at 8:40 this morning. Indiana County 911 sent the Homer City fire and police departments and Citizens Ambulance to the intersection of Route 119 and 56 for a reported vehicle accident, and Coral-Graceton fire crews were called to the scene seven minutes later to assist. Homer City fire officials said that it was similar to a crash that happened a few weeks ago as a car came off of Route 56, turned left and collided with other vehicles. This time, one car coming off 56 collided with two other passenger vehicles. Four people had minor injuries and were taken to IRMC for treatment.
At least one person was injured in the second reported accident of the day, which was on Route 954 North in West Mahoning Township. Initial reports say that two vehicles were involved. First responders requested a Stat Medivac Helicopter for pickup. Dayton and Plumville Fire Departments were initially dispatched at 9:09 AM along with State Police from the Punxsutawney Barracks. The Indiana County HAZMAT team was called in at 9:20 to assist.
