State Representative Jim Struzzi is praising the House Republican Policy Committee for scheduling hearings concerning Governor Josh Shapiro’s proposed budget.
The committee will focus on how the budget will impact the energy industry, specifically the hiring of workers as part of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. Committee Chairman Josh Kail of Beaver and Washington counties held a news conference yesterday to point out some of the negative impacts, and said that Governor Shapiro was “playing political games while workers are losing their jobs.”
Struzzi offered some words during the news conference as well, saying that he was excited about the hearing. He said that RGGI has already had a major impact on the state’s energy industry.
Hearings are scheduled for June 12th in Harrisburg, and June 16th in Dallas in Luzerne County. Struzzi added that he is trying to get a hearing for Indiana County as well.
