Earlier today, State Representative Jim Struzzi hosted the Pennsylvania House Republican Policy Committee for a hearing at the Homer City Fire Department to talk about the negative impact that RGGI will have on the area and other energy-related issues.
Among those offering testimony was Gregg Kalemba, the business manager of the Homer-Center School District. He told the panel of State House Republicans that the Homer City Generating Station was very valuable to the district in real estate tax, saying it was over 12 percent of the local annual real estate tax revenue of the district, and its loss will be devastating.
Others offering testimony today included Robindale Engergy President Jud Kroh, Shawn Steffee with Boilermakers Local 154, Doral Renewables president and CEO Nick Cohen and David T. Stevenson with the Caesar Rodney Institute.
