On Monday night, the Marion Center School Board discussed trying to reduce truancy not just in the district, but across the county.
Superintendent Clint Wimer said that the administration and school principals are working on trying to improve its statistics when it comes to attendance and truancy within Marion Center.
In other business, the board heard a presentation on two options to provide air conditioning for Rayne Elementary School. One option presented is a variable refrigerant flow system, while the other is a four pipe HVAC system. The building itself currently has no air conditioning. Board President Gregg Sacco said that the administration will continue to look at both options that were presented by HHSDR and will make a decision at next month’s meeting.
The board also approved the audit for 2022. The audit was a clean report for the district. The board also hired Pam Anderson as athletic director and Donald Seanor as the assistant athletic director.
