Pitt basketball has released its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season, and it includes the Backyard Brawl with West Virginia, which will be played this year on December 16th at WVU. It will be the 104th meeting between the two teams. Coach Jeff Capel will open the season November 6th at home against North Carolina A&T, followed by home games on November 19th, 13th, and 17th against Binghampton, Florida Gulf Coast, and Jacksonville. The Panthers will play the Preseason NIT against two undetermined opponents on November 22nd and 24th, then play Missouri at home in the ACC-SEC Challenge. In December, Pitt plays Canisius on the 9th, South Carolina State on the 16th, and Purdue Fort Wayne on the 20th.
Capel says forward Jorge Diaz Graham will miss six weeks this summer with a foot injury. He will miss the team’s summer tour of Spain August 5th though the 14th, including games in his hometown in the Canary Islands.
