Two former River Valley girls stars yesterday announced their college basketball destinations, and both will be playing in the PSAC.
Forward Hannah Artley continued a family tradition when she signed her letter of intent to play for Slippery Rock. She averaged 9.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while shooting 54 percent from the field last season.
Artley’s father, Rick, and brother Zack both played football for Slippery Rock.

Shortly after Artley’s announcement, her former teammate, center Abbie Pynos, announced her commitment to play for Clarion. Pynos averaged 9.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game in her senior season.
Artley and Pynos helped River Valley advance to the state championship game in Hershey, where they finished as the Triple-A runner-up this spring.
