The 11th annual Knotweed Festival returns to the Blairsville Diamond today and lots of fun activities are planned throughout the day. The festival focuses on the Japanese Knotweed plant found near rivers across the U.S. and even Indiana County along the Conemaugh River.
Festivities kick-off around 10 AM with a parade that runs through Market Street. Diamond Dolls Twirling starts around 10:30, followed by a rock climbing wall, bounce houses and a quilt show starting around 11.
Several music groups are scheduled to perform during the day, and Lynda Long with the Knotweed Festival previews who will take the stage.
Cat Country 106.3 FM will broadcast live from the Knotweed Festival from 1-3 PM. More information can be found on the festival’s Facebook page.
Another major festival happens tomorrow as the Italian Festival returns to Indiana Borough. It runs from noon to 7 PM and proceeds benefit Renda Media’s Teddy Bear Fund Drive.
