As the summer construction season nears its end, PennDOT will be opening lanes in the Oakland Avenue and Indian Springs Road construction zones starting this week in White Township.
Traffic control devices along both roads will be removed on Tuesday, and between Tuesday and the end of December, workers will be doing daylight weekday lane closures in the final stages of the project, with flaggers directing traffic. Should weather interfere with the work, weekends could be added to the schedule.
The $19.83 million project is scheduled to wrap up before the end of the year.
PennDOT also says Margaret Road will reopen today in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County. It’s been closed since July 24th and work continues to build two new temporary roads to allow for tie-ins to Route 422 as the $25 million project to create a new, realigned Margaret Road intersection with the highway. Traffic will be moved onto the temporary roads once they are completed, before the end of the year.
