District Attorney Robert Manzi announced today that defendant David Gene Crawford, 48 of Homer City, entered guilty pleas to the following offenses:
1) Rape of a Child, Felony of the first degree.
2) Rape by Forcible Compulsion, Felony of the first degree.
3) Rape by Threat of Forcible Compulsion, Felony of the first degree.
4) Statutory Sexual Assault, Felony of the first degree.
5) Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse by Forcible Compulsion, Felony of the first degree.
6) Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse, Threat of Forcible Compulsion, Felony of the first degree.
7) Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse, victim less than 16 years old, Felony of the first degree.
8) Sexual Assault, Felony of the second degree.
9) Indecent Assault, victim less than 13 years old, Felony of the third degree.
10) Incest of Minor, Felony of the second degree.
The guilty pleas were entered before the Honorable Judge Michael T. Clark. Four lesser included misdemeanor offense were nolle prossed. Judge Clark ordered that the defendant complete a sex offenders’ assessment with the state authorities and that the Indiana County Probation Department complete a pre-sentence investigation. Sentencing is schedule for March 4, 2024 at 8:30 am.
Members of the Pennsylvania State Police conducted an investigation based upon a report made to Childline. It was determined that from June, 2020 until May, 2022, the defendant sexually assaulted a minor child and made consistent threats against the victim in order to stop any reports being made to the police.
Upon arrest, bail for the defendant was set at $250,000.00 by the Honorable Judge Christoper S. Welch. The defendant was unable to post bail and has been incarcerated since his arrest.
