The new year begins without a contract for faculty or coaches at IUP and the other state-owned universities, and with no new negotiations scheduled for the teachers. Faculty talks were last held December 20th and focused on salaries and benefits.
Bargaining for the coaches last took place on November 29th and were centered on consolidation issues, bereavement leave, and compensation. A particular sticking point in those talks is job security. The next sessions for coach negotiations are scheduled for January 11th and 12th.
