Following an extensive search, Indiana County’s Children and Youth Services and the county’s Board of Commissioners appointed Amanda Steiner as the new CYS Administrator.
Currently serving as the Youth and Family Services-Caseworker Supervisor in Armstrong County, Steiner brings 15 years of experience in the Child Welfare System. She earned her bachelor’s degree in child development and family relations at IUP and is currently pursuing a master’s degree from Drexel University.”
In her new role, Steiner will oversee all operations of the Children and Youth department, including budgeting, staff management, policy reviews, performance audits, foster family recruitment, records management, and community partnerships.
Steiner said in a news release that her call to working in child services started at an early age, even saying quote, “it was not until I had my own child did I without one doubt recognize that children’s services [was] my calling.”
Steiner will start her new position February 5.
