Mark E. Hill, 54 of Blairsville, PA, passed away February 7, 2024 at Shadyside Hospital after a 3 year battle with cancer.
He was born July 4, 1969 in Latrobe, PA, the son of the late Floyd Hill and Carol (Harper) Hill.
Mark was a talented heavy equipment mechanic and truly loved his 30-year career with R&L Development Co. He had many dear friends at R&L and spent years building engines in the New Alex shop with his buddy, Geno. The last 5 years were spent in rotation at the local power plants repairing equipment as a member of Operating Engineers Local 66.
Mark enjoyed hunting deer with his sons, fishing with grandson “Noodles” and spending time outdoors. He was always up for a party or a Pens game and loved to cook, grill and feed his friends. His biggest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His grandson Mark has many memories of “adventures” with his Pap. He loved to make people laugh, especially his dear nieces Ashleigh & Catie and entertained them with inappropriate stories and jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (Holmes) Hill, Blairsville, PA; son, Mark Hill, Jr. & wife, Amber, Derry, PA; grandchild, Mark E. Hill, III & his mother, Nancy Hudson, Blairsville, PA; grandchild, Braden Brendlinger, Derry, PA; brother, Scott Hill & wife, Christine, Little Rock, AK; nieces, Ashleigh & Catie Hill; brother-in-law, Bill Holmes, Jr. & wife, Vanessa, Montoursville, PA; niece, Jillian McQuail & husband, Ken, Salt Lake, UT; niece, Lexie Lecher & husband, Evan, Hershey, PA and father-in-law, Bill Holmes, Sr.

The family will receive friends in casual attire (Mark insisted) at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 11 AM until the service at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please have a few beers and share a laugh. Mark would love that.
