Martin F. “Marty” Pisarcik, Jr. 76, of Blairsville, passed away, Friday April 26, 2024 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 5, 1947 to Martin F. Pisarcik, Sr. and Laura (McCully) Pisarcik in Johnstown.
Marty was a proud Vietnam Veteran who fought for each and every American and regularly said, “I would do it again in a heartbeat.” He struggled for many years with PTSD. With the help of two very special pastors, Larry and Todd, he was able to accept, understand and overcome the many effects PTSD brings. Marty was later able to use his experiences to help so many other veterans who were also struggling get to a place of peace and understanding.
He loved the outdoors, spending time camping, fishing, stock car racing, having picnics, sitting around the fire and so much more. Marty was a dedicated father, proud Pappy and Pap. He had a big heart and had adopted so many into his family from exchange students, neighbors, church families, and really anyone he met.
Marty was a man of God, he lived each day for the Lord with an all-in servants heart. He enjoyed organizing and preparing meals with and for the church, VFW, and especially for friends and family. He enjoyed being part of various small groups and Bible studies. Spending time with him was the greatest gift you could give.
Marty was impacted by everyone he met and in return they were deeply touched by his presence. He will forever live on in our memories.
He is survived by his wife, Leda (Muir) Pisarcik, Blairsville, his mother Laura Pisarcik, Hermitage, two sons, Kristofer M. Pisarcik (Marie), Ryan S.T. Pisarcik, both of Indiana, two daughters, Julie Conner (Bryan), Pleasant Unity, Jennifer Ethridge (Lance), TN, six grandchildren, Kristen Pisarcik, Samantha Pisarcik, Kristian Ethridge (Madyson), Gabriel Sleigh, Rayna Sleigh, Kevin Conner, two brothers, Barry Pisarcik (Helen), Johnstown, Michael Pisarcik, two sisters, Cecelia Costello (Roger), Brush Valley, Benita Schroyer (Kary), Hermitage, and numerous nieces and nephews.
