After Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was swept out of the AHL playoffs by Lehigh Valley, the Penguins wasted no time getting rid of the coaching staff. Head coach J.D. Forrest and assistant Kevin Porter will not be retained, according to the Penguins. Forrest departs after four seasons, with a record of 113-102-37. He was 39-24-9 this season. Assistant coach Sheldon Brookbank remains on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton staff.
In their announcement, the Penguins said “additional changes to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton staff will be announced when a new head coach is named.”
