Allen D. “Squeak” Wheeler, 71 of Clymer, PA., passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Beacon Ridge Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Indiana.
He was the son of Dean and Beula (Trimble) Wheeler, born December 8, 1952, in Indiana, PA.
Allen was a finish carpenter for most of his career working for local contractors. He was a member of the Dixonville Moose and Clymer American Legion, where he participated in Wednesday night pool leagues for many years. In his younger years he was an avid bowhunter and most recently shared deer hunting with his grandson Jackson. He was a diehard L.A. Dodgers fan stemming from his love of baseball from a young age into adulthood, where he played right field for numerous years in the A & I softball league.
Allen was the happiest when doing anything that involved the greatest gifts in his life, his daughter, and grandchildren. He was a proud Dad and Pappy and touched their lives in his own unique way.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Henry) Wheeler, his daughter, Corin Taylor and significant other, Jon, five grandchildren, Lilly, Emily, Jackson, Mia, and Leighton, six brothers and sisters, James Wheeler, Imogene Wheeler, Roy Wheeler and wife Beverly, Calvin Wheeler, Herb Wheeler, and Melissa Donohoo and husband Walt, and also several nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father in-laws, Vernon, and Betty (Bouch) Henry.
Per Allen’s wishes there will be no services. The McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer is assisting the Wheeler family.
A special heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of Beacon Ridge for the wonderful care and genuine kindness that was given to Allen and his family during his brief stay.
