The United School Board approved advertising the 2024-25 budget, but it does contain a deficit.
Expenditures come to $24,293,113 while revenues come to $23,778.662, with a deficit of $514,691. The budget contains no tax increase. Board president Eric Matava called the budget a “worst-case scenario” and he said the actual deficit may be significantly less than what is reflected in the budget.
The board also approved a contract with Marmat, Inc of Hooversville out of Somerset County for $126,990 for the replacement of the concrete and roof soffit of the existing covered walkway and approved a proposal from Illuminated Integration for improvements for the junior/senior high school auditorium at a cost of $1,197,361.
