Deborah K. Kanick Davidson, 65 of Indiana, entered her eternal reward with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Her passing was unexpected and occurred at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born in Indiana, July 13, 1958, she was the daughter of Gloria (Ondo) Kanick of Indiana and the late Robert Walter Kanick, Sr.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents: Helen and Walter Kanick and Julia and Joseph Ondo. She was also preceded by other aunts, uncles and godparents.
Deborah was deeply rooted in her Catholic Faith. She was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She was a devoted mother to daughter, Theresa Davidson Ireland, Los Angeles, CA and son, Patrick J. Davidson and his wife Angie, Ernest. Grandson, Noah Davidson who was the jewel of her life.
She was very active with the St. Bernard C.D. of A. 339; was Past Exalted Ruler and current trustee of the Indiana Elks Club 931. Deborah was a VP at the American Legion Post 141 in Indiana, secretary of the Indiana County Council of the American Legion, and was a member of F.O.E. 1468. She also was a member of the Dixonville Moose, and former member of the Talus Rock Council of Girl Scouts. Deborah also enjoyed bowling with her league at Mohawk Lanes in Indiana.
Deborah was a retired medical records director of Indian Haven nursing home where she worked for 26 years. Following her retirement, she was a server at The Home Made Restaurant in Home.
She was a graduate of Indiana Senior High School and later an Indiana technical school. She was an avid chef who used her culinary skills to showcase her ethnic cooking. She was known as the “Haluski Queen” and took great pride in her annual 4th of July celebration.
In addition to her mother, children and grandson, Deborah is survived by her brother, Robert Walter Kanick, Jr. and his wife, Andrea Wannett Kanick; nephews: Robert Kanick, III and Branden Kanick, all of Indiana. She is also remembered by her many aunts, uncles and dear friends.
Friends will be received Monday, June 17th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory of Indiana (965 Philadelphia St.). The Rosery will be prayed by members of the C.D. of A. at 3:45 PM Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana. Rev. Fr. Paul Dressler O.F.M., Cap., celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
