The National Weather Service confirmed four tornadoes touched down in Western Pennsylvania on Wednesday during the severe storms that rolled through, with damage reported near the Indiana-Westmoreland County border.
An EF-Zero tornado reportedly touched down near Blairsville in Indiana County. Damage was reported in the south-east corner of Indiana County initially, and flooding was also seen along one low-lying road in the Blairsville area. Tornadoes were also confirmed in Westmoreland County, with an EF2 tornado reported south of Delmont to near Shieldsburg and New Alexandria and an EF1 twister in the area of the Bushy Run battlefield park.
The fourth tornado was an EF1 at the border of Washington and Allegheny Counties.
The storms resulted in multiple trees and lines down, but no human was hurt. There was a report of a pony that was killed in Westmoreland County as a result of the storm damage.
