The Blairsville Municipal Authority is asking its customers to voluntarily cut back on water use.
The announcement came on Monday on the borough’s website. It asks BMA customers to conserve water by limiting non-essential water usage because of the lack of rain that has come through. The authority advises people to limit watering lawns, flowers, and gardens; limit washing cars, and turning off the tap when washing dishes in the sink or when brushing teeth.
This marks the third Indiana County-based water utility to make such a request, with the others being the Indiana County Municipal Services Authority and the Central Indiana County Water and Sewage authority. Those announcements were made earlier this month.
