PennDOT officials have debunked rumors speculating that state inspections will no longer be required.
According to a post on PennDOT’s Facebook page, no legislation was passed that would eliminate state inspections and that Pennsylvania requires annual inspections and emissions testing. The origin of these rumors was not announced, but they stem after Texas passed a law eliminating state inspection requirements.
Non-commercial vehicles are still required to be inspected by licensed mechanics once every year.
