Dr. Brigette Matson, the Executive Director of the Armstrong-Indiana Intermediate Unit has passed away.

Prior to becoming the head of ARIN IU 28 in 2021, Matson was an assistant superintendent at both the Brookville and Dubois Area School Districts. She received her bachelor’s degree from Clarion in 1999 and went on to earn a master’s degree in Speech Pathology in 2001 before earning her Doctorate in Education from IUP in 2018.
ARIN board president Michael Bertig said that she will be remembered for her compassion at the IU.
Matson died at the age of 47 after battling cancer. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the McKinney-d’Argy Funeral Home in Brookville.
