Penns Manor thrashed West Branch 64-24. A night after collecting her 1,000th career point, Alyssa Altemus scored 24 more. Allie Mumau added 16, 11 rebounds, and 4 steals.
BOYS BASKETBALL
United outscored Homer-Center 24-5 in the first quarter and cruised to a 70-34 win. The Lions had four players in double figures led by Ryan Felix with 14. Dmitri Worthington had 13, Carter Payne 12 and James Kordish 10. Max Voyda led the Wildcats with 11.
Portage topped Marion Center 70-54. For the Stingers, Noah McCoy and Kamden Rozier each scored 16 points, and Cameron Pack had 10.
River Valley improved to 4-1 with a 45-38 win over Cambria Heights in a hard-fought game. The Panthers were led by Max Persichetti’s game-high 20 points. Jeremy Reed also reached double figures with 10.
Northern Cambria blitzed Penns Manor, 68-28.
Conemaugh Township blasted Purchase Line, 72-29.
West Shamokin edged Conemaugh Valley, 52-46
WRESTLING
Indiana was beaten by Kiski Area, 52-19, to fall to 0-2 on the season, 0-1 in the Section. Winners for the Indians were Nico Fanella, Carter Putt, Tuscan Blystone and Jacob Snyder Indiana will wrestle Saturday in the Hampton Dawg Duals.
River Valley improved to 5-2 with a 44-19 defeat of Marion Center. Winners on the mat by fall for the Panthers were Chris Clawson, Brody Houser, and Wyatt Taubler. Levi Anthony and Tanner Flickinger won by major decision.
