The Pens top line had a stellar night. Crosby and Rust each had four-point nights and linemate Rickard Rakell had a goal and an assist.
The Penguins trailed in the second period, 3-2 but coach Mike Sullivan says the Penguins’ players believe they are never out of a game.
The coach says the Penguins did not panic when they gave up the go-ahead goal in the third period.
Sidney Crosby had a goal and three assists. Sullivan says Crosby is the best he’s ever seen at creating goal-scoring opportunities in implausible scenarios.
Newly-re-acquired defenseman P.O. Joseph was not in the lineup after travel difficulties prevented him from flying to Nashville in time for the game.
The Penguins have canceled practice today, a travel day with their trip to New Jersey for tomorrow’s game. They’ll play one more game before Christmas, in Pittsburgh on Monday against the Flyers.
