The Pirates on Monday announced their non-roster invitees for Spring Training.
Pitchers include Carson Fulmer, Isaac Mattson, Tanner Rainey, Yohan Ramirez, Yerry Rodriguez, Burch Smith, Hunter Stratton, and Eddy Yean. All except Rodriguez, Smith and Yean have big league experience, including some with the Pirates.
Position players include catcher Abrahan Gutierrez, infielders Darick Hall, Malcom Nunez, and Nick Solak; and outfielder Bryce Johnson.
The Pirates still need help on the 40-man roster, especially in right field. Right now, Jack Suwinski and Joshua Palacios are listed as right fielders on the team’s depth chart, but Billy Cook, Nick Yorke, and Andrew McCutchen are also potential candidates to fill that void, should the time refuse to sign a free agent or trade with other teams.
