In Harrisburg both the State House and Senate return to session tomorrow. It’s the first voting day of the new legislative session and the first opportunity to re-introduce legislation that was proposed in the last two years but did not make it to the governor’s desk.
Governor Shapiro is scheduled to give his annual state budget address on Tuesday, February 4th. The respective appropriations committees will then get to work on hearings and crafting a new budget. Representative Jim Struzzi is the new chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and Senator Joe Pittman, the Senate Majority Leader, serves on his chamber’s appropriations committee.
