The Penguins play back-to-back road games, tonight against the Rangers in New York and tomorrow in Philadelphia against the Flyers.
Sidney Crosby skated on his own yesterday before the team practiced, with Rickard Rakell taking his slot centering the top line and Anthony Beauvillier replacing Rakell on the wing. Crosby has played in 229 straight games for the Penguins, last missing a game on April 9th of 2022. He was injured on Tuesday against New Jersey and his status for tonight will be determined today.
Coach Mike Sullivan says, Crosby or not, whoever’s on the ice tonight for the Pens needs to step up.
Sullivan says the Rangers are even more dangerous since they acquired star center JT Miller from Vancouver last week.
Faceoff tonight is at 7 o’clock, with airtime on 92.5 FM U92 at 6.
