Ronald Lee Rhoades passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on February 6, 2025. He was born on June 29, 1951, to the late Alvin and Anna Rhoades.
He graduated from Homer-Center High School in 1969 and worked at International Harvester. He then worked as a mechanic for Helen Mining Company for 18 years and served on the safety and grievance committees. After Helen Mine closed, he and his brother Bill formed Rhoades and Rhoades Construction.
Ron was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a Dixonville Moose Lodge #833 member. He enjoyed playing golf, growing his garden from seed, working with wood, and crafting beautiful furniture.
He married Kathy (Jones) on March 1, 1975, and they were about to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
Ron is survived by his wife, sisters, Anna Marie Rhoades, Greensburg; Delores Jean (Bob) Ianarelli, Summerville, SC; Cindy (Terry) Carcella, Latrobe; and Sandy (Tony) Vigliotti, Blairsville; brothers, William Rhoades, Indiana; and Alvin (Christie) Rhoades, Latrobe; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
