Those headed out today may want to be careful as wintery conditions are expected to make roads slick today.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that will run through 5:00 tonight for Indiana, Armstrong, Jefferson and portions of Westmoreland County. A wintery mix of precipitation is expected, including up to two inches of snow.
PennDOT is urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution while driving today. Road crews have pretreated roads where necessary ahead of the storm to prevent ice formation, but drivers could still encounter icy spots on the roadway, including patches of black ice.
