Top seed West Branch outpaced Penns Manor, 64-45. Portage throttled Claysburg-Kimmel, 69-50.
The AA semis on Saturday will have Northern Cambria at West Branch and Bishop McCort visiting Portage. (Times to be determined)
In AAA, Marion Center hung in there against Penns Valley but the Rams outscored the Stingers 19-4 in the fourth quarter and won, 63-54. Noah McCoy led Marion Center with 20 points, Cameron Pack scored 15 and Kamdin Rozier had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Elsewhere in the AAA bracket, Central Cambria downed Southern Huntingdon, 61-48. Penn Cambria beat Mount Union, 76-49.
On Friday, Forest Hills takes on Penns Valley, West Shamokin travels to Westmont Hilltop, Central Cambria visits Bishop Guilfoyle, and Penn Cambria is at Tyrone.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The AA and AAA girls take the court for quarterfinal action tonight.
In AAA, top seed River Valley will host West Shamokin on Cat Country 106.3 FM. Number four Marion Center will host number five Cambria Heights on Renda Digital TV. Mount Union visits Central Cambria and Richland is at Penns Valley.
In AA, the top seed is Bishop McCort, which will host number eight Homer-Center on WCCS. Number two Penns Manor welcomes number seven Claysburg-Kimmel. Sixth-seeded United goes on the road to Southern Huntingdon, and number five Portage visits number 4 Bellwood Antis.
All of the District 6 games tip off at 7 o’clock.
WPIAL
In the WPIAL girls quarterfinals, seventh-seeded Indiana plays number two Peters Township tonight at Norwin, tipping at 7:30 on WDAD.
