It was an uphill battle for Pitt to make it to the NCAA tournament heading into yesterday’s game against Notre Dame. After a 76-72 loss, those hopes are virtually gone.
With two of their best players out of the lineup and five losses in their last six games, Notre Dame should not have had a chance against Pitt, but the Irish outscored Pitt 46-42 in the final twenty minutes after a 30-30 first half.
Ish Leggett scored 21 points and Cam Corhen 20 to lead the Panthers, who will host Georgia Tech on Tuesday.
