Jack Herbert Lentz, 86, of Clarksburg, PA (Young Twp.) passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at his home.
The son of Arthur Clair and Florence B. (Doumont) Lentz, he was born on March 7, 1938, in Iselin, PA.
Jack was a veteran of the US Army.
He owned Clarksburg Hose Company and owned and operated with his late wife, Donna, Challenger Raceway in Jacksonville for 22 years from 1986 to 2008.
Jack was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, a charter member of
C & Y Sportsmen’s Club, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Latrobe, Williamson Lodge #431, Saltsburg, and was inducted into the Indiana County Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
He was a loyal Trump supporter and watched Fox News 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Surviving are three children, Randy L. Lentz (Michelle) of Homer City, Jacqueline K. Lentz of Kent, and Jerry R. Lentz of Homer City; three grandchildren, Megan LeeAnn, Nicholas, and Tiffany; two great grandchildren, Jade Olivia and Gracie Lynn Marie; his sister, Joyce Rizzuto (Vito) of Kendall Park, NJ; his half-sister, Flora Jean Johns of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life of 53 years, Donna J. (Christy) Lentz on August 25, 2014, his son, Timothy Lentz on May 11, 2006, and his sister, Jane Dymond on February 14, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 11 AM with Pastor John Johnson officiating.
Interment will be in the West View Cemetery, Avonmore, PA.
Military services will be conducted at the funeral home by the Blairsville Military Honor Guard.
