Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith had dinner with Ohio State quarterback Will Howard on Tuesday night, before the Buckeyes’ Pro Day yesterday. Howard said he ‘really liked” the Steelers coaches and Pittsburgh would be a “great, great spot” for him to land in the NFL Draft.
The Steelers have also met with wide receiver Emeka Egbuka while at Ohio State.
Pitt held its Pro Day yesterday, too, with 14 players working out, 12 of them former Panthers, along with Duquesne quarterback Darius Perrantes and Slippery Rock defensive back Eddie Faulkner.
Defensive captain Cam Heyward clarified yesterday that he would welcome Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers if he chose to sign with them. He said last week’s public comments that seemed critical of Rodgers for delaying his decision were “misconstrued”, and it would be “cool” if Rodgers came to Pittsburgh.
